Poem: ‘Nothing’ #Napowrimo
Apr 30th, 2011 by Trixsey

April is National Poetry Writing Month which The §purious Collective have entered in order to write a poem a day for 30 days throughout the month of April 2011!  This poem is by Trixsey:

A poem for day 30:
Nothing

I cannot describe this man

I try so hard

But I never will

Everyone is different

Not all people like his songs

But I do

To me

He is funny and precocious

I don’t think of him as ferocious in any way

But these words mean nothing

I try and try to choose the right bundle of letters

To choose the right setting

To exclaim my idea at the top of my voice

But no one else will understand

Only I know

Words mean nothing

No one will understand

So even my words mean nothing to me

Poem: ‘Fairy wings’ #Napowrimo
Apr 29th, 2011 by Trixsey

April is National Poetry Writing Month which The §purious Collective have entered in order to write a poem a day for 30 days throughout the month of April 2011!  This poem is by Trixsey:

A poem for day 29:
Fairy wings

Exclaim in joy

To hear the stories of these toy little pixies

In their quaint world

Where the fairest splendour will not depend on the looks

It is not the kind of attractive like in the fairy-tale books

Fairy wings

Fluttering through the trees

Fairy wings

Muttering to each other about sweet and innocent things

They jump around the room

Prancing over the cracks with their old and sooty boots

They don’t feel scared without duty

They don’t feel impaired without beauty

Fairy wings

Poem: ‘Music’ #Napowrimo
Apr 29th, 2011 by Trixsey

April is National Poetry Writing Month which The §purious Collective have entered in order to write a poem a day for 30 days throughout the month of April 2011!  This poem is by Trixsey:

A poem for day 28:
Music

A gentle tick of a nearby clock

The loud clash of falling crock

The music rings in your ears

A spoon tings against a clear glass

A small flower swaying in the grass

The music rings in your ears

A piece of string tied in a small knot

A silly bird whistles a reply to the warm windy breeze

The music rings in your ears

Poem: ‘Dubious liar’ #Napowrimo
Apr 29th, 2011 by Trixsey

April is National Poetry Writing Month which The §purious Collective have entered in order to write a poem a day for 30 days throughout the month of April 2011!  This poem is by Trixsey:

A poem for day 27:
Dubious liar

Igneous temper

Tedious tell-tales

What is desired?

What is the outcome?

Dubious liar

Skulking around

Silently sneaking on the ground

Snooping under you feet

Stooping towards you with an intrusive grin

Dubious liar

I would like to show you my best side

But you are not the kind that it would reside near

I would give you a chance in an opportune moment

But you would scour for a tuneful scandal

Until you found that certain handle to pull

Dubious liar

A poem for day 25:
Inspired

To discover a passion

To discover a dream

Something you revel in enough to scream

Someone may inspire you

To release a fire within you

Diligence, persistence and kindling

Inspiration never expires

A person or people make you who you are

But only you choose who

Who inspired you?

Poem: ‘Ever-lasting bore’ #Napowrimo
Apr 26th, 2011 by Trixsey

April is National Poetry Writing Month which The §purious Collective have entered in order to write a poem a day for 30 days throughout the month of April 2011!  This poem is by Trixsey:

A poem for day 24:
Ever-lasting bore

I made this poem for no other reason

Than the fact it’s Napowrimo season

I’ve made sure that I will waste your time for as long as needed

Even though your delicate mind has pleaded

The plant has seeded and you will watch it grow

And every day you sit and watch

Like every day you sit and read

It will look the same, again and again

An ever-lasting bore

Like a snail in a race, recording its score

Like a rock falling to the floor

(But I digress – I get carried away with similes)

A gentle toll of a bell rings in the distance

To make you forget your existence

That is far from this poem

That bell tolls once!

An ever-lasting bore

It is still going

Just like before

But that time is yore

That time has passed but time is now

I will not waste it anymore

Poem: ‘The day’ #Napowrimo
Apr 26th, 2011 by Trixsey

April is National Poetry Writing Month which The §purious Collective have entered in order to write a poem a day for 30 days throughout the month of April 2011!  This poem is by Trixsey:

A poem for day 23:
The day

Grey skies and misty eyes

Murky waters and nervous sighs

The day could still be worse

Standing at the jagged edge at the creaky ledge

The trees whisper a small pledge

The day could still be worse

I call to you about this unspeakable curse

The one that cannot be put short and terse

The day could still be worse

Poem: ‘Speech’ #Napowrimo
Apr 21st, 2011 by Trixsey

April is National Poetry Writing Month which The §purious Collective have entered in order to write a poem a day for 30 days throughout the month of April 2011!  This poem is by Trixsey:

A poem for day 22:
Speech

Speech, chatter, witter and twitter

The mysterious ways of speaking to one and other

Sometimes it’s special

Sometimes it’s just a gentle shush pushing through the air

People ask for such small things

Not always crowns and diamond rings

No one asked for the blackbird and its tuneful rhymes

No one asked for the sandy dunes with their airy whoosh

People still cherish the fruits of these treasures

Look deeper for real passion

Conversations through the butterfly wings

Observation of the harp strings

Speech, chatter, witter and twitter

The mysterious ways of speaking to one and other

A poem for day 21:
Here

I’m here

Somewhere there

Over here

I’ll be there

Tell me, if I call

Would you pick up?

I’ll be out there

You can believe it

I’m here

Somewhere there

Over here

I’ll be there
